MS spent millions designing the Windows and dialogs APIs. Don't break them! Stick to "standard" interface concepts, and you will not only make it more user-friendly, but save yourself hours and hours of programming time doing "something different" that doesnt actually add any value to the user. Spend your time programming features and debugging, not on recoding interfaces.
